1996 Swedish Touring Car Championship season

The 1996 Swedish Touring Car Championship season was the inaugural season of the championship. It was decided over five race weekends (comprising twelve races) at five different circuits.

was the first championship winner of the STCC.
Note: Only a driver's best seven results, prior to the final meeting, were valid for the championship.
An additional five point bonus was given for qualifying for a race. The final meeting of the year saw double points awarded.
