  • San Miguel Beer wins its 10th PBA title, with a 4-1 series victory over Swift Mighty Meaty Hotdogs, the beermen are now the second winningest team in the PBA.

Games Summary

Swift, down by 15 points early in the 4th period of Game 1, rallied and forces overtime at 116-116 on Tony Harris' buzzer-beating basket, just when it seems San Miguel would collapse in the extension period, back-to-back treys by Kenny Travis had the beermen regain the lead at 123-122, San Miguel had the game all but wrapped up at 127-124 when Vergel Meneses hit a triple at the buzzer forcing second overtime at 127-all, San Miguel escape with a two-point victory following Kenny Travis' split free throw with four seconds left and the ball swipe from Tony Harris' hands as the buzzer sounded.
Game 2 had an altercation between imports Tony Harris and Kenny Travis somewhere in the third quarter, with Swift leading by about 15 points. both imports were thrown out of the playing court.

Game 3 went into overtime, Allan Caidic's clutch triple with shot clock expiring gave them a safe lead at 115-108 and opened another six straight points for a 13-0 run, from a 108-all count in regulation to a 121-108 lead. Swift could only score two points in the five-minute extension.

Tony Harris had to leave after two quarters of Game 4 because of an injury, and Swift goes All-Filipino the rest of the way and lost anew.

Harris, still hurting, tried his best to help Swift extend the series in Game 5, led 89-86 but failed to score in the last minute, the crucial error came from Asaytono's inbound play when the beermen wrest the upperhand at 90-89. Harris missed his last shot from the left side, as San Miguel celebrates its tenth championship with a two-point victory.
