The Nashville Sounds
' 1993 season was the franchise's sixteenth year of play. The team finished the regular season with a record of 81 wins and 62 losses. They finished first place in their division, clinching the Eastern Division title. In post-season play, the team had three wins and four losses; they were defeated in the league championship series.

The Sounds won the first game, but dropped their two remaining home games, giving the Cubs a 2–1 advantage before taking the remainder of the series to Iowa. Though Nashville lost game four, they managed to win the next two, forcing a game seven which would decide the league title. In the final game, the score was tied 2–2 after nine full innings, but the Cubs scored in the bottom of the eleventh inning, ending Nashville's title run.
