Notable events
- April 17, 1977 - Opening Game of the season between Crispa and Toyota, the Redmanizers won, 122-121 in a game marred by a free-for-all in the post-game fight, sending majority of the Crispa and Toyota players detained in Camp Crame for one night on charge of "alarm and scandal" for the melee.
- July 12, 1977 - Mariwasa-Honda, led by Billy Robinson, defeated the Toyota Tamaraws in the semifinals, 121-114, to set the stage for the first non Crispa-Toyota title-showdown.
- July 24, 1977 - The Crispa Redmanizers clinch their fifth consecutive championship, defeating Mariwasa in Game 4, 139-128.
- November 29, 1977 - Crispa defeated U/Tex, 90-88 in Game 5 of the deciding series, for its sixth straight PBA title.
- December 18, 1977 - Toyota Tamaraws wins the Invitational championship, winning over Emtex Sacronel of Brazil (led by Oscar Schmidt) in Game 3, 129-108 to complete the first ever 3-0 finals sweep.
