1972 Thandwe crash

The 1972 Thandwe crash occurred on 16 August 1972 near Thandwe, Burma. The plane was a scheduled passenger flight for Burma Airways carrying 27 passenger and 4 crew. Shortly after the flight departed Thandwe Airport on its initial climb, the plane suddenly fell from the sky and crashed into the sea killing all 4 crew and all but 3 passengers. It was the first fatal accident for Burma Airways.
