Owned by Gordon Peters, on behalf of a not-for-profit corporation to be incorporated, the station received Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) approval on April 14, 2011.

A launch date for this new radio station has yet to be announced.

Technical issues

Thamesville, Ontario is located more than 90 kilometres from Detroit, Michigan. Since the soon to be launched Thamesville station will operate at 104.3 MHz with only 50 watts, there are possibilities that the new First Nations community radio station may receive interference from a significantly much higher powered 190,000 watt FM radio station, WOMC
