The investigation officer in the case submitted supplementary charge sheet before the court of chief metropolitan magistrate Paresh Chandra Sharma implicating eleven more people, including former industries minister Motiur Rahman Nizami and former state minister for home affairs Lutfozzaman Babar,on June 26, 2011.

Earlier, charge sheet was submitted in the case implicating implicating 43 people, court sources said adding that the number of implicated persons had stood at 50 after the submission of the supplementary charge sheet in the case filed under arms act.

The police seized a total of 4,930 different types of sophisticated firearms, 27,020 grenades, 840 rocket launchers, 300 rockets, 2,000 grenade launching tubes, 6,392 magazines and 11,40,520 bullets while they were being loaded on 10 trucks from two engine boats at the jetty of CUFL.

Ahadur Rahman, the then officer-in-charge of Karnaphuli police station, filed case in connection with the incident on April 3 in 2004 and was appointed IO into the cases. The cases were transferred to the CID

 were implicated with the incident in the charge sheets. Of them, Nurul Amin and Paresh Barua are absconding while rest others have remained behind the bars.

The two accused—Md Hafizur Rahman and Din Mohammad, accused to be related to the smugling, stated to the Metropolitan Magistrate Md Osman Gani on Monday, 2 March 2009 that the massive amount of arms and ammunition was being smuggled under the direct supervision of Ulfa leader Paresh Barua, who was residing in Bangladesh at that time.
