depending on the model helicopter..the engine speed can vary. However, on a UH-60 blackhawk type helicopter the engine RPM is about 20,900 rpm producing about 1950 shp per engine. The longer the blade is the faster the tips will spin, the blade is manufactured to not produce lift at the tip. Most of the lift is produced in the middle part of the blade . The blade incorporates a negative twist to reduce the tips from trying to produce lift.
