Afro-Asiatic languages
Why should there even be an Asia in Afro-Asiatic; should it not simply be Afrasan?

So called Afroasiatic is a language group which according to the overwhelming majority of linguistic experts originated somewhere in the region of of North East Africa.According to Ehret Afrasan people lived between 15 000 and 13 000 BC in an area spanning from Nubia in the west to far Northern Somalia in the east. Semitic is nothing more than a little asiatic offshoot of Afrasan which actually developed in Ethiopia and ended up in Asia when a small group of Africans migrated to that place.

I believe that the misnomer adds to the confusion and also to this racist pseudo-academic trend of finding an Asiatic alternative to an African origin for several major aspects of human history and culture, ranging from the emergence of Modern humans to the race of Ancient Egyptians. We see this in the works of Luigi Luca Cavalli-Sforza for instance who placed the origin of Afrasan in Asia.(and they by the way are not linguists). Also closely related to this is the other racist lie that Arabs or Asians were somehow responsible or should take credit for any trace of sophistication ar advancement occuring in ancient African culture. We see this in old theories proposing that Mesopotamians, and more recently Indians being responsible for the emergence of Ancient Egyptian Civilisation or the location of ancient Punt; and also in the case of the ancient and literate Mande cultures of West Africa which by some has been accredited to Arabs.

In the case of Afrasan some would have us believe that the presence of the language in Africa is due to some kind of mysterious migration from the so called Middle East to Africa. So the fact that the vast majority of the main branches of the language family group resides in Africa, in locations as faraway as Chad, is rendered as somewhat irrelevant. How much longer before african history is liberated from this pseudo-scientific and racist Asiatic myth?
