Tigers are striped so they can blend in with their habitat. They typically hunt in grassy areas, so the stripes help them to hide in the long grass to hunt their prey.

Tigers are striped because they then can easily blend in with their habitat, the tall grass, and in that way it could hide itself from its enemies and also it can hunt without letting its prey know that something is going to attack. The orange striped places blend with the orange and yellowish color of the grass and the black striped parts are blend in with the tigers shadow.
