Global warming as a concept enables all governments, at least in the Western World from what we see on the news, to collect more taxes and for them that is a good thing since they are all up to their eyeballs in debt to the big financiers of this world (which i reckon have to be the masks of the biggest industry -the medical industry).

Global warming does not has any particular environmental advantages as such. It is responsible for increasing the earth's annual temperature which may eventually melt the polar icecaps thereby raising the water level in the oceans. This will cause several islands and coastal areas to disappear causing severe loss of life and property. Thus it is a step towards our own destruction. But in some way it has opened the eyes of several nations and they are working towards the reduction of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Thus the only advantage that can be sighted of global warming is that it has helped in bringing international environmental awareness.

IF global warming is for real then don't you think the overpopulation of the planet has something to do with it. We are not only consumers of goods tha contribute to global warming in their use or manufacture but we each also exhale many litres of carbon dioxide every year.

Yes i agree to you @KYRANI overpopulation of the planet has got to do with global warming. In fact it is one of the most important causes of global warming. Not only is it related to the amount of carbon dioxide we breath everyday but it is also related to the increasing human demands which in some or the other way is a outcome rocketing population growth...

It does not have any such advantages but it has brought many countries together as a matter of concern and has also devloped scientific thinking and made us aware of our carelessness towards nature
