We have had a western painted turtle that my husband found walking up the driveway in June 2011 and he was the size if a quarter. He has grown somewhat since and we keep him in a 10 ga. aquarium filled with rock and some plastic vegitation plus a couple of basking logs and have been feeding him freeze dried shrimp some food stcicks and some freeze dried crickets. This summer he was eating live flys and moths, mesquitos. His motabolism has already slowed down and am wondering what I should do to help him "hibernate". I would appreciate any tips on this. Thanks
