I am a former active duty Marine that is interested in becoming active in the Single Action Shooting Society (SASS)events. To this end I'm wanting to put together a Marine Corps NCO's battle uniform from the period covering the 1870's to the 1890's. I'm having a frustrating experience so much as finding any photographic or painted depictions of Marine uniforms of this period. I have found some full dress uniforms that would be suitable, but not battle uniforms. The Army and Navy uniforms of the period are not only readily seen but available for purchase, however I would prefer that my SASS alter-ego be a Marine as well. If anyone can point me to such information I would be much obliged. Semper Fi!
