Well if germany had decided to not attack the soviet union and instead had concentrated its firepower on great brittin they could have pretty much destroyed the allies and even if they did fail they would still have the alliance with the soviets so when they attacked russia they for the most part had no allies left because all of the other axis powers didnt want to be next so they wanted no farther dealing with the nazis
