My family name is Lyandres. I was born in Russia and now live in Israel. There is a legend (in all known to me Lyandres families) that our origine is Eastern or Northern France and one of Napoleon soldiers stayed in White Russia (Belorussia) in 1812. Unfortunately I have no documents which might approve the huphotesa. I found at least three points in France with more or less close names: Landrecies, Landres, Landresse. I will be more then obliged to anyone who can add something to this (or other) explanation of my family name.
