My ancestor was Louis Jeffery 1856-1893, owner of a saddlery and harness making business in Paris, at 91 Les Avenue des Champs Elysee, a contemporary of Louis Vuitton and Charles Emile Hermes. I believe that Vuitton may have bought 91 as part of the huge plot upon which stands Louis Vuitton Building. Does anyone have any information about this?
