Hey, how are you guys doing. I am trying to confirm that a black man with the last name of "West" was a spiritual adviser to president Roosevelt. This is completely anecdotal, but he was supposesdly white enough that Roosevelt didn't know he was black. When he found out, he threw him in jail. He didn't get out until Roosevelt's wife advocated for his release. I am really just trying to confirm that he had a spiritual adviser with the last name of "West". The other things would probably be impossible to prove. Thank you for your help.
