I had brought back some dead wood from a park and I was widdling at one piece and there was this larvae like worm that came out of it.

It looked all white and had a brown nose, I am not sure if this was a wood worm or a termite or what but it wasnt small probably alittle bigger then a dime.

now another question is if I take this dead wood and heat it up in the oven will it kill if any more are in this piece of wood???

Please let me know if any clues or ideas of what it might be.
