Psychiatry

I've been seeing a psychiatrist for the past 6 months and I have not really made much progress at all. There are many reasons why I have become disenchanted with his service. However, one of the more annoying and disturbing things is the fact that he has really paper-thin walls. His office is separated from the waiting area for his next patients. And I can hear EVERYTHING that is being said in that office. You can even hear a whisper. And I just hate when I leave his office and I see someone looking at me and I realize immediately that they now know everything about me, especially those things I want to be confidential. It is really embarrassing.

Is it just me, or is this ridiculous? I cannot imagine why a psychiatrist would even consider an office like that. Are there any rules or regulations which govern this sort of thing, because it just does not seem right.
