I have an older cub cadet with a Kohler magnum 17. seemed to run normal last time i used. after parking in garage, noticed strong gas smell for the next couple of days. tried starting and raw gas is coming out of exhaust. this happened one other time and i don't remember what i did to fix. will definitely change oil before using if i can find the problem.
