I am a business student pursuing Masters in Business Administration at Singapore. As part of my academic project on Transportation Development on an Island, i am doing comparative studies of projects implemented across the globe. Based on my research, i established that Ap Lei Chau is having excellent public transportation (buses) system covering the whole island. I request all the readers to help me on certain areas such as:

Are people encouraged to use the public buses over private taxis?
What are the charges of a trip? Is it fixed one or does it depend upon distance travelled?
Does this bus service connect to Hong Kong, Island? Or is it covering areas only with in Ap Lei Chau?
The major reason of having this bus service is to provide public transportation with in Island or to move passengers move from Ap Lei Chau to Hong Kong?
