The movies are regarded as fairly accurate. Spielberg hired a famous paleontologist for the first movie (Jack Horner) to help make the dinosaurs in the movie as realistic as possible.

There were several glaring (and in some cases intentional) errors. Velocoraptors, for example, are actually the size of a chicken.

Another problem that gets overlooked is how did they reproduce the plants. They state in the movie that prehistoric plants were cloned just like the dinosaurs, but where did they get the DNA? Not from mosquitoes!
