For changing the direction of steam turbine changing the blades will not serve the purpose. i am sure u must be having MOP and turning gear in your module. So u need to change the MOP. There will be gear or clutch arrangement in the turning gear. that will require modification. if you have a mechanical overspeed protection then the position of the trip plunger will require modification. bearing beddings will require special attention in doing so. For Generator everything will be OK except the neutral and phase will change. you will have to complete the balancing process once again for thr modified arrangement. this is not an easy job. so stay with ur present rotation. :)

Hi thanks for your responce,
If I want to clarify I should say that we have a steam turbine that its direction is opposit of the direction of over pump which we are to couple with.
two process which we have dicided to solve this problem first of all is changing the direction of steam turbine directly by changing its design (blade changing) and the other one using gearbox between pump and turbine to change turbine direction, I will be thankful if you let me know your opinion on this matter
best regard

Hi
I am sure your pump is a centrifugal pump rated at 50 or 60 Hz. Gearbox transmission at such a speed is very dangerous and complex. moreover there will be transmission loss and an additional load for turbine. Changing the turbine rotation is certainly not the solution. it will involve much more complex issues. best way that i can think of is either changing the pump or modifying the impeller of the pump. Contact your pump manufacturer. For the modification of pump you only need to fit the impeller which should be a mirror image of your present impeller. I think the manufacturer of pump can supply this impeller or you can ask them to procure a new one for you.
This is the best i can suggest. :)

It's not reccomended to do so..it's like you designing a new turbine and it will cost you as much as buying a new turbine..
