Magellan arrived when the Portuguese were laready entrenched in Goa, and Malacca, in fact Magellan was with Albuquerque when Malacca was overtaken.

Islands' rulers, several of them reported as recorded by Pigafetta, that they know of Portuguese ships and some making landfall.

The Spanish established Manila as the capital of the Spanish East Indies in 1571.

The first Intramuros was set afire by Limahong's men during their invasion, and Martin de Goiti died defending his home.

It was rebuilt immediately and became the most distant Capital of the Spanish empire, I would like to see drawings of that first one.
