Wood Stork

Due to draught conditions we have just this week seen the arrival of several wood storks to our small (drying up!) man-made lake in our back yard area. This evening while was in my back yard 2 of the storks quite fearlessly approached me. They seemed quite curious & stayed near-bye even when I moved sround a little. We tossed them a crumbled slice of wholegrain bread which they quickley ate and waited around an hour or so not moving from their "spot" close to the house. Is it ok to feed these beautiful (in a funny way) creatures?? We would love to have more close encounters of this kind but don't want to do something we shouldn't do in the birds best interest.
