The reasoning about the sudden marriage in both books is lame and at odds. Almanzo has dealt with a claim and harvesting before-so not having a wife/female around for the cooking jars.Same for his mother/sister coming around to organise the wedding which he and his bride cannot afford.Maybe I read too much into the tight tucks of the hasty black wedding dress but suspected pregnancy...What does everyone else think?

Pregnant when she got married? But Rose was born more than a year later. Doesn't figure.
