Does anyone else feel that this book has influenced their life? i saw the bbc production years ago and was completely entranced. i've read the book over and over and never tire of it. i keep a copy in my car (i travel fairly frequently), so that if i find myself eating alone in a restaurant, i can read it. it is simply the most beautiful story i think i've ever read---so rich and sparkling, even to this day.
