A modern rendition of Assyrian Urarṭu. Corresponds to Biblical (see Ararat).
Proper noun
- An Iron Age kingdom in eastern Asia Minor flourishing 9th-6th century BC. Located in the Armenian Highlands, it was centred in the mountainous region around Lake Van.
