Haar

Usage notes

While you speak about hair in English without an article, German uses the plural of the word. E.g.: She has blond hair. = Sie hat blonde Haare. But when you refer to a single hair (when you use an indefinite article in English), German uses the singular so. E.g: The woman's hair was red but she also had a grey hair. = Die Haare der Frau waren rot, aber sie hatte auch ein graues Haar.
