Background

Älmhults Idrottsförening were founded on the 22nd April 1919. The sports club has provided for bandy, ice-hockey and skiing as well as football. The club has been using Älmevallen playing field since 1929. The club's youth teams use Haganässkolan.

Since their foundation Älmhults IF has participated mainly in the middle divisions of the Swedish football league system
