. Throughout the 1980s it was offered to U.S. television networks broken up as a one-week strip syndicated program, generally showing the week of Christmas, one episode per day for four days.

("Comin' Up Christmas Time" and "Making A Big To-Do") were featured in this movie, in new re-recorded versions. Additionally, Boo Boo's song "Hope" was previously heard in the 1977 Christmas special, A Flintstone Christmas

come to Jellystone Lodge for the holiday. They are joined by Ranger Smith, hotel manager Mr. Dingwell, Otto the chef, and lodge owner Sophie Throckmorton and her spoiled brat of a nephew, Snively. The gang is obsessed with keeping Mrs. Throckmorton happy to keep her from closing down the lodge, which has become unpopular due to activity caused by Herman the Hermit, a grumpy Christmas-hating hermit who just wants to be left alone. After being embarrassed by Yogi and hurt by his aunt Sophie not standing up for him, Snively runs away and eventually joins up with Herman to ruin Christmas.
However, Yogi manages to thwart them every time. Cindy Bear also awakens from her hibernation, to help Yogi out (due to her love and concern for him). Eventually, Herman and Snively are forgiven, invited to the Christmas celebrations and they have a profound change of heart at such generosity of spirit. Then in the midst of the festivities, Santa Claus
plummets down the chimney bearing a picnic basket
full of food for Yogi. Yogi, however, falls asleep, due to his natural instincts of hibernation
. Santa then says that Yogi and Boo Boo can have the basket when they wake up in the spring. With that, the partiers return Yogi, Boo Boo and Cindy to their caves for the rest of their hibernation.

Goofs
- When Huckleberry Hound announces free picnic baskets to wake up Yogi Bear, the color of his ears change from black to blue, then back to black.
- At the ice-fishing contest, the tally board erroneously shows "Jinks" instead of "Snively." (The feline rival to mice Pixie and Dixie does not appear anywhere in the show) Also, the board at first misspells Augie as "Auggie," but in subsequent shots, it is correct.
- As the gang enters the park, they pass under a sign that says "Yellystone" rather than "Jellystone" Park.
- Boo Boo makes several appearances in scenes he is not supposed to be in. During the opening song "Comin' Up Christmas Time", Boo Boo's voice can be heard singing "You better bundle up, it's starting to snow again", but Boo Boo is never seen or shown until he and Yogi awake from their hibernation in their cave, nor is he shown riding in the hotel bus during the opening song. Also, during the "Making a Big To-Do" music number, Boo Boo can be seen eating a gingerbread man, but he is supposed to be with Yogi, who is bringing orphans to the lodge. His voice is also heard singing some lines in the song as well. Also, Boo Boo can be seen as one of Yogi's skiing pupils when he is actually supposed to be at the lodge. His voice is also heard among the Hanna-Barbera characters after Mrs. Throckmorton asks them if they wish to go cross-country skiingCross-country skiingCross-country skiing is a winter sport in which participants propel themselves across snow-covered terrain using skis and poles...

during his musical number, Yogi is shown wearing his ski instructor outfit but he was already promoted to chief of security and, therefore, should've been wearing his security uniform. Also in this same scene, Boo Boo can be seen wearing a snow cap on his head when it should be his bellhop cap. - In some scenes, Augie is shown wearing his trademark green sweater (which is darker in color), plus a green scarf. In other scenes, he is shown in a red scarf and, strangely, no sweater, making him look more like Doggie Daddy (at least for this film).
- There are several instances where Mrs. Throckmorton's dress changes from pink to red/blue.
- When Yogi is leading the carolers, Herman the Hermit mis-identifies himself as "Kermit the Hermit".
