W. Kent Fuchs

W. Kent Fuchs is the current Provost of Cornell University
. Fuchs was previously the Joseph Silbert Dean of the Cornell University College of Engineering
(2002-2008). He was formerly Head of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Purdue University, and Michael J. and Catherine R. Birck Distinguished Professor (1996-2002). He was also Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the Coordinated Science Laboratory, University of Illinois (1985-1996).
In 2000 Fuchs was inducted as a Fellow
of the Association for Computing Machinery
for his contributions to reliable computing. In 1995 he was inducted as a Fellow of the IEEE
and in 2010 he was inducted as a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science
(AAAS). He is a member of Tau Beta Pi
(Engineering Honorary Society) and Eta Kappa Nu
