 towards Vaterland over Grønland. In 1900, the tram shifted to electric operation, and was expanded towards Oslo Hospital, a psychiatric clinic. It was also established a branch line from Schweigaards gate, that ran towards Vålerenga

-section over Grønland was replaced with a more effective stretch that ran in Biskop Gunnerus' gate and Schweigaards gate. The Vålerenga Line was finally closed in 1968.
