Vendelsö Idrottsklubb were formed on the 16th March 1941. The club currently has around 2,500 members and runs football, bandy and ice hockey from the seniors to "junior" level.

Since their foundation Vendelsö IK has participated mainly in the middle and lower divisions of the Swedish football league system
