s along with 2 churches. One of the churches was set on fire in 2004, it was closed for a repairs and after about a year they opened the church again. Every year in June a festival is held commemorating the day Ulanów was established. There is music and the burning of a great wreath made of pine cones and flowers while songs are sung. Then, there are rafts set upon the San river

 which is double bottomed and develops whirlpools randomly. The rafts leave Ulanów river to go to Gdańsk. People set out on the river to place a basket of flowers with a candle in the middle on the river. Torches are lit as the wooden hand made rafts continue and are not allowed to return to shore unless the torches are burnt out. There is also a boat containing the mayor of the town with a large cannon that is shot when the ceremony is over which is then followed by fireworks. The mayor of Ulanów was Andrzej Bąk, who was elected in 2005. He died in 2008 and his successor is Stanisław Garbacz.

History

Ulanów was once a multicultural town with Jewish population of about 40%, however, by the end of World War II

, the town became almost completely Roman Catholic.
