Zöller was educated on a scholarship by the Hessisches Ministerium für Wissenschaft und Kunst (Hessian Ministry of Science and Art) and the Naspa-Stiftung (Naspa Foundation) for initiative and performance; he has been a professional bagpipe player since 1998.
