. In September 2007, as part of a shuffling of ESPN Radio's lineup following the departure of Dan Patrick
from ESPN and the removal of The Dan Patrick Show
from the network's lineup, Smith received a national timeslot. WEPN moved his program to 2 PM and aired the first hour locally, preempting the second hour of The Mike Tirico Show, Patrick's replacement. The second hour aired nationally over ESPN Radio. Smith left both the national and regional show on April 11, 2008 to focus on television and to cover the NBA
