The Clancy Brothers' Greatest Hits is a compilation of The Clancy Brothers
' greatest hits, re-recorded with Lou Killen. It was their first album for Vanguard, their last album with Louis Killen, and the last studio album they would put out for a while. It was also the last album they would put out altogether for a while. The recording was originally released as a double album. In 2000, Vanguard rereleased it along with four previously unreleased tracks from their follow-up album Live! on a CD entitled Best of the Vanguard Years. A backup musician on a few of the tracks is Don McLean, mostly known for his song American Pie.
