History

Supré is focused on supplying clothing and is family-owned and operated by Hans and Helen van der Meulen, and their three daughters. The Supré chain originated from its first store in the light industrial area of Osborne Park, Western Australia. Supré stores are known for their use of loud dance music in store, and some even have, at times, had DJs in store. With the opening of the Darwin CBD store in March 2007, Supré now has a flagship city store in each State and Territory of Australia. In July 2007 Supré opened in the Bourke Street mall, Melbourne and is different from most other Supre stores due to its very dark interior, much like a night club, complete with a "chill out zone" featuring sofas and benches for customers to sit and relax near the change room area. The Bourke Street store closed for trade on the 20th of October 2010.

Products

Supré sells fashion shirts, tees, knitwear, jackets, cardigans, day dresses, party dresses, shorts, skirts, jeans, scarves, accessories, leggings and sport wear.

Supré has faced criticism for the sizing of their clothing - because of its tendency to be under-sized - an 8 at Supré used to be S, but is now a XS. They also stock sizes in XXL, which is equivalent to a 16-18.

In March 2010, Lara Bingle
