. Although based in the city centre, the congregation is drawn from all parts of the city, including a large student congregation.

Services

Regular services at St George's occur at 10:30 a.m., 5 p.m and 7.30 p.m. on Sundays, with other activities throughout the week.

The 10:30 a.m. service is a large family congregation, with good provision for children's work. The 7.30 p.m service is a rapidly growing student congregation, with a focus on biblical teaching, and high-quality musical worship.

There is also an additional congregation, St George's Community Church, which also has services at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings at Parkdale Hall for those resident in the parish.

St George's Crypt

St George's Church is well known for the work of St George's Crypt, which works with the homeless and Asylum seekers. The Crypt provides overnight accommodation, and runs two hostel

The church building

The church is a Grade I listed building, built 1836-38. Its spire was blown down in 1962 and replaced in January 2006
