Not only Football

As Campino Milligan finished his own professionell career, he thought about founding a new team in Hamburg not only to continue with his sport as a coach but also to give the young people of St. Pauli which are mostly poor and a lot of them unemployed a chance to change their life. So he walked through the quarters where those people where hanging around on the streets making trouble. He told them about his own life, how Football gave him a chance to change it. As he is really an impressive man he made them think about it. So a lot of them came to the first trainings.

Campino was not only interested in those youngsters but also searched boys which came from richer families. The idea was that the poor ones learn how to rule their lifes but also the rich one what is it like when you where born in the ghetto. He was very successful so the Bucs today sing in their anthem written by Money Mendoza aka Young CRhyme: "We have players from the ghetto to the suburb but if you got the jersey on their's only one word: Buccaneers."

Like this Campino not only brought young people from different social classes together but also the different nations which live here in Hamburg. In 2010 the team had players from 21 different nations. People from all parts of the world. People from nations who are shoting each other in their countries. He brought them together showing them that racism is a real stupid thing. Noone asks you where you from, what's your color or religion. The only question is: Do you have the balls to put a helmet on and go out with us on the field.
