Of prominent note, the St. Mary's Girls Ice Hockey team went a perfect 25-0 in 2007/2008. The girls then repeated this feat plus one to go 26-0 in 2008/2009. In addition, they went through the 2009/2010 season undefeated with one tie. The result: 100 consecutive games without a loss over three years before a loss to Hingham in the state semi-finals, and three Massachusetts Division 1 State Titles.
Students are also encouraged to participate in Christian service activities, such as Rachel's Challenge, Sant' Edigio, and assisting at My Brother's Table, a local food pantry.

St. Mary's High School was established in 1881 as Saint Mary's Boys High School. A Girl's High School was added later, followed by coeducation. In 1989 the school began a junior high school starting with a 7th grade class only, with an 8th grade class added the following year. Extra-Curricular Programs
Students at St. Mary's participate in a variety of sports, clubs and other extracurricular activities. Its various clubs include Chorus, College Bowl, Dance Team, Mock Trial, National Honor Society, Science League, Student Admissions Team, Student Council and Yearbook. The Science League team found recent success in the 2007-2008 school year, with many first place finishes, their best year in school history. The Drama Club puts on two performances each year. They performed "The Eleventh" at this year's Massachusetts High School Drama Guild Festival, in addition to the an annual Spring Musical production of Alice in Wonderland.Athletics
