Sophia A. Nelson

Sophia A. Nelson is an American author, political strategist, opinion writer, and attorney. Sophia Nelson was born in Munich, Germany and grew up in Somerdale, New Jersey. She attended and graduated from San Diego State University. She was the first African-American woman elected to a major position in the Student Body. Sophia Nelson originally wanted to be the first Black female Supreme Court Justice, but decided to pursue her passion as a freelance writer instead. Sophia Nelson is an attorney and a member of the Republican Party.

She authored the book "Black Woman Redefined:Dispelling Myths and Discovering Fulfillment in the Age of Michelle Obama." She advocates for better representation of Black women in the media and society. Sophia Nelson spoke out against the controversial Pepsi Max commercial, which aired during the half time of the 2011 Superbowl. Sophia Nelson also spoke out against the controversial Psychology Today article by Satoshi Kanazawa
