On March 2, 1917, Dr. White died of a heart attack. Dr. Scott petitioned to change the name to the Raleigh White Memorial Hospital, in honor of his late partner, but instead it was changed to the Scott & White Memorial Hospital on October 13, 1922.

Scott & White Hospital - Brenham: On July 1, 2010, a partnership with Trinity Health Services Corp was finalized making this the newest system hospital.
Temple West Campus: Along with the Scott & White Continuing Care Hospital (a 50-bed, long-term acute care hospital), the West Campus is home to the Scott & White Cancer Research Institute, the Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine Institute for Regenerative Medicine at Scott & White, and the Texas Bioscience Institute.
Children's Hospital at Scott & White: On April 1, 2009, King’s Daughters Hospital became a part of Scott & White Healthcare. King’s Daughters Hospital will begin construction on Sept 1, 2010 to be transformed into a free-standing children’s hospital which is set to open by fall of 2011.

Organization
Following the death of Dr. White, the partnership was changed to Dr. Scott, Sr., his brother-in-law, Dr. Marcel W. Sherwood, and Dr. George V. Brindley, Sr. in 1917. Dr. Scott's son, Dr. Arthur C. Scott, Jr., took over the presidency when his father died of a heart attack on October 27, 1940. On December 23, 1949, for-profit Scott & White Clinic was separated from non-profit Scott & White Memorial Hospital. S&W has been involved in training of medical, nursing, and allied health professionals since its inception.
