Sam Francis O'Doherty

Sam Francis O'Doherty born 3 July (year of birth unconfirmed), is an author of Northern Irish/English heritage most recognised for the novella "Belle". His work is now available worldwide.
Born in Enfield, North London, he was educated at St John's Senior School, North Lodge.
Sam is currently living, working and studying in Paris, France.
His first short novel was self published under the title "Life Matters" in 2005. It is generally considered unsuccessful and only two editions were published. "Life Matters" was republished with a new cover image and foreword after his second publication with Lulu Inc. a novella titled "Belle", which is his most successful publication to date.
Initially published in small numbers, "Belle" (along with other works) is now available to order through Waterstones, Foyles, Barnes & Noble (USA), WH Smiths, Blackwells and other major and private booksellers. Other works include the collection of poetry "The Suite", generally considered a precursor to the later collection of poetry and short stories "Interim".
An illustrated book called "The Fishbowl" is also available; all of the illustrations included were designed by Sam.
Sam makes live appearances at bookshops and poetry group-meets in the UK, generally lasting between 20–30 minutes, performing a selection of his poetry, before taking questions from the floor. A 2011 autumn tour is anticipated but details have yet to be confirmed.

Belle (2008)
Sam's first publication with Lulu, a novella of 83 pages which tells the allegorical tale of a seemingly young woman named Belle. The novella is broken up into very separate chapters which focus on a host of characters. The plot continues to give an insight into each of the characters and their seemingly stinted relationships with each other and later with Belle. It is not until the final three pages of the novella that the reader is made aware of the true nature and significance of the characters, who are in fact each facets of the elderly, dying Belle's regretful life.The original 2008 blurb printed on the first edition of "Belle":

Interim is the name of Sam F O'Doherty's third publication with Lulu and fourth publication to date. Interim contains the poem "The Last Few Seconds", perhaps the best known of Sam's published poetry.Interim contains three groupings of poetry, 'Overture', 'MidSpace' & 'Finale' which each contain thematically related series' of poems.
