Salammbo: Battle for Carthage is a first person perspective Science Fiction Fantasy video game released in 2003. The game was developed Cryo Interactive Entertainment.
The game is based on the Salammbô
novel by Gustave Flaubert
and the works of Phillippe Druillet, who was heavily involved in the game's development. The soundtrack to the game features Antonín Dvořák

".
The game which features Adventure, action and strategy gameplay elements, is set during a time when the city of Carthage has been overthrown by Rome, its arch rival.
A message must be delivered to Matho, the leader of the main force laying siege, from Salammbo, the daughter of commander and the Carthaginian forces. Salammbo asks for your help; you assume the role of Spendius, a favoured slave and companion of Matho. During the game, you assume the role of a fugitive, then a spy, a soothsayer and finally a General.
