Approximately 1,500 people work at S:t Göran, including 220 doctors, 560 nurses and 350 assistant nurses. The hospital was corporatized in 1994 and became the first privately-owned emergency hospital in Sweden in 1999.

Since 2004 it is also known as Capio S:t Görans Sjukhus.
