). Oberabschnitt Böhmen-Mähren was strictly a "paper command" and never exercised any active operational authority. The Oberabschnitt had been formed strictly as a General-SS counterpart to the much more powerful position of Higher SS and Police Leader

 of Moravia and both positions were intended to be held by the same person.

The Böhmen-Mähren Oberabschnitt was activated in April of 1944 with the Oberabschnitt headquarters established in the city of Prague

. The Oberabschnitt's sole commander was Karl Hermann Frank
