Torreense participated in the 1956 final of the Cup of Portugal, where they lost by 2-0 against FC Porto. They also played in Portuguese Second Division (as second level) between 1952-1955, 1959–1964, 1965–1972, 1973–1977, 1978–1981, 1982–1991, 1992–1995 and 1997-1998. Its stadium was boasted in 1925 and has a capacity of 12,000 people.
