Raadvad, or Rådvad is a neighbourhood in the Lyngby-Taarbæk
municipality, by the Mølleåen, in the middle of the Dyrehaven. It was originally a small industrial town, built around a waterwork, the Raadvad Mølle.

After the First World War, it changed name to Raadvads Knivfabrikker and, for a period, it produced exclusively knives and bread-cutters. In the 1970's, the company moved to Brønderslev

The Raadvad factory
The place has given its name to the Raadvad company, which was founded in 1758 with the name Raadvaddams Fabrikker. The company produces mostly kitchen equipment, and is well know in Denmark for its knives.After the First World War, it changed name to Raadvads Knivfabrikker and, for a period, it produced exclusively knives and bread-cutters.
